The Fifth Annual Membership Meeting & Banquet With
terms beginning February 2, 2010, the ASA membership has elected the
following individuals to leadership roles in the association. Patrick
Bridger, Allentown Shotcrete Technology, Inc. was elected to a
2-year term as President. Joe
Hutter, King Packaged Materials Company, was elected to a 2-year
term as Vice President. Elected to 1-year terms were Secretary Michael
Cotter, Consultant, and Treasurer Ted
Sofis, Sofis Company, Inc.
These four individuals, plus immediate past president Chris
Zynda, Joseph J. Albanese, Inc., will serve as ASA’s Executive
Committee. Four
new ASA Directors were elected to terms beginning February 2, 2010.
The new Directors are William T Drakeley Jr., Drakeley Industries, LLC , Charles
Hanskat, Concrete Engineering Group, LLC, Tom
Norman, Airplaco Equipment Company, and Ray
Schallom III, Allentown Shotcrete Technology, Inc. These
individuals will join with 5 previously elected Directors (Dan
Millette, The Euclid Chemical Company, Ryan
Poole, DOMTEC International, LLC, Howard
Robbins, Meadow Valley Contractors,
Marcus von
der Hoffen, Johnson Western Gunite Company, and Curt
White, Coastal Gunite Construction Company) and the ASA Executive
Committee to form the 14 member ASA Board of Direction. Past President Chris Zynda made a few brief remarks about the 2010 election results before handing over the microphone to ASA Vice President and ASA Marketing Chair, Joe Hutter to announce the Fifth Annual ASA Outstanding Shotcrete Projects Award recipients. After the presentation of the Fifth Annual Outstanding Shotcrete Project Awards, Past President Chris Zynda presented the fourth annual Carl Akeley Award to Jean-Francois Dufour, Simon Reny, Pierre Lacroix, and Richard Morin for their paper," Effects of Liquid Corrosion Inhibitor in Air-Entrained Dry-Mix Shotcrete." Bestowed at the discretion of the Board of Direction Past President Chris Zynda presented Dudley R. "Rusty" Morgan with an Honorary Membership Award and announced his selection of Merlyn Isaak as the recipient of the 2009 President's Award in recognition of Mr. Isaak's exceptional contributions to the shotcrete industry.
