The QUIKRETE Companies supplied pre- mixed 3000 lb (1360 kg) bulk bags for this project. A total of 1370 bulk bags were used to complete both phases of this project. Using the premixed bulk bags for a job of this caliber guaranteed the materials were uniform and to contract specifications. Use of the aforementioned construction techniques and materials resulted in rail service restoration 45 days after the fire and full project completion 10 days later. The final product is a reliable, sound tunnel that will support vital railroad service for many years to come (refer to Fig. 4 through 8).
